Artwork Description

The Temptation of St Anthony was painted by Salvador Dali in 1946, a wide horizontal composition where a kneeling, naked saint holds up a small wooden crucifix against a procession of impossibly long-legged animals. A rearing white horse leads, then a line of stilt-legged elephants carries golden temples, an obelisk and tiny figures across the desert behind.

It is one of the cleanest examples of Dali’s surrealist style, bright Mediterranean sky, ochre desert floor, restrained architecture and a few sharp human forms. Reproduced as a modern art print it suits a media room, study or long sofa wall where the horizontal format can breathe. The strong narrative also makes it a natural choice for a guest room or library corner.

Available as stretched canvas with mirrored edges, a black or oak floating frame, framed paper with cream mat, or rolled paper for your own framer. Printed and finished in Perth, shipped Australia wide ready to hang.
