L’Embarquement pour Cythere

This is a high-quality print on canvas of the artwork The Embarkation for Cythera. The painting is also known as Voyage to Cythera and Pilgrimage to the Isle of Cythera, it was painted by French painter Jean-Antoine Watteau in 1717. The painting portrays a “fête Galante” an amorous celebration enjoyed by the aristocracy of France after the death of Louis XIV, which is generally seen as a period of dissipation and pleasure after the sombre last years of the previous reign.
