Hey II by Kent Youngstrom

Kent Youngstrom’s Hey II, 2023, brings together expressive abstraction and heartfelt handwritten text in a beautifully understated composition. Pale whites, soft greys and cool blue accents form an airy, layered background, built from loose brushstrokes, delicate drips and subtle texture. Across this tranquil surface, the phrase “hey, you are the scenic route.” appears in casual lowercase black lettering, its relaxed irregularity giving the message a wonderfully personal, human quality. Known for combining expressive mark-making with intimate, motivational words, Youngstrom creates artwork that feels contemporary yet genuinely warm, and Hey II captures that balance beautifully.

• A quietly uplifting statement piece, the words feel like a spontaneous compliment, making this artwork especially appealing to anyone drawn to positive, meaningful interiors.
• The soft neutral palette with cool blue touches works effortlessly with modern, coastal, Scandinavian and minimalist décor, adding personality without overwhelming the room.
• A lovely choice for a bedroom, dressing area or reading nook, where its gentle message can become part of the everyday atmosphere.
• Equally at home in a contemporary hallway, home office or creative workspace, bringing a little warmth and encouragement to spaces where people start, pause or reset their day.
• The understated composition also makes it a thoughtful choice for a guest room, boutique-style interior or relaxed living space, particularly where meaningful wall art is preferred over purely decorative pieces.
• Available as a stretched canvas print, framed print or rolled canvas, with a massive variety of sizes from extra-large to small, making it easy to create anything from a subtle accent to an impressive focal point.
