Here are some great tips to keep your canvas prints as clean as possible. This will make sure you can enjoy the canvas print for many years to come.
Our canvas material
Our 100% cotton canvas material is sprayed with an invisible laminate to help protect it against both UV light and water to make it less vulnerable than untreated canvas. This makes it easier to clean and maintain. Our canvas prints can be wiped with a soft and damp cloth without damaging the inks.
Smoking
In the long term, smoking cigarettes near a canvas prints will have a negative effect on them. Discolouration by smoke is unfortunately something you can’t prevent or clean, it will happen over time. Your photo on canvas will therefore gradually turn yellow. The only way to keep your photo on canvas clean is to stop smoking ;).
How to clean it
For cleaning canvas print, only use soft cloths that don’t leave a trail of fluff (microfibre cloths for window-cleaning are great). The dust from the top of the print should be cleaned with a dry clean cloth. The same cloth can be used to brush off the dust from the print’s front, to clean the picture itself.
Alternatively you can use a dry, soft-bristled brush, such as an old toothbrush, to brush off any loose dirt on the canvas. Mix a cleaning solution. Use a mild detergent mixed with water as a cleaning solution. A gentle body soap, dishwashing soap, or a small amount of laundry detergent are all good options.
